I always liked Ella, but never loved her(preferring Sassay and Billi and many others-more).BUT-the album this is taken from is one of my all time favorites by anyone-"Like someone in love" with, I believe, the priceless Frank Duvol's orchestrations.Last time I looked there were NO reviews of the cd on amazon-amazonazing..I think it might be far and away her best recording-ever

@2THEBLUEANGEL8 It's really the truth. What she did is separate from other singers. Maybe Sinatra, though I find her instrument infinitely more pleasing.
If anyone ever cared to ask what I missed in my life, I would say I never got to see Ella Fitzgerald when I had a chance.
The best. The reason so many people sing the way they do. She opened up so many possibilities.

Soulful and necessary. Song of the night.

Very lovely, but my favorite will always be Chet Baker's version of this. So poignant and lovely. I will always love it to the end.

I love this! Miss Ella is at her most beautiful with a sublime song, full of emotion.
It was taken off for a bit, so i'm so glad it's back.

I appreciate the way Ella interpreted this song to emote melancholy, although determined to move on with her life. Well, that's my opinion at least.
