Hi everyone! Ive finally finished making Army Men, Saving Private Ryan and here it is!

This is the story of the men (army men version) who landed on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944 using audio from Saving Private Ryan itself.

About me and making this movie:

It took the Pickles Cinema team about 2 hours to create the set and around 3 hours to film the movie, and about 1 hour to record the audio.
I used 5 buckets of sand and 3 buckets of dirt.
I made basically all the props in this movie from scratch, the hedgehog traps, the Pillboxes, the LCVP and more. It took me a few months to get everything ready.
Most of the garrison cliff was made with wood with dirt over top.
Before filming, we spent about an hour or so filtering out the froth that appeared in the water for the first few shots! It ended up coming back but it was worth it for the first scene.
As you can see, when the troops land, there is no water on the beach, for obvious reasons as the LCVP was cardboard! The scene in the boat was actually taken on the lino in our kitchen.
All of the original props are still here except for two: the pillbox we set alight, and also one of the wooden structures I used for the MG Nests was accidently stood on by my Dad just after filming!
This movie took AGES to make. Once the movie was ready to be published, the computer simply wouldnt do it, so Ive been working on a way to get past the computer, and I finally got it, with only a few glitches where it goes completely black for a few seconds.
Id have to say this has been the best movie Ive done so far, its been an awesome experience.

And yes, it was a lot of fun destroying the pillbox :D

Enjoy!
-Jesse Wiltshire, Pickles Cinema & Joker Studios

NOTE: Actual movie, Saving Private Ryan is a creation and trademark of Steven Spielberg, which I do not own.
