@pshawfocus Cars are not appliances. Maybe to you, but other people there is a romance with the engine and the clutch. That's why people drive standards over automatics when they get sports cars, it's not about practicality it's about doing what you enjoy. You may have a car that gets 70mpg with a 0-60 speed of 10 seconds, but I would take a V8 any day because it's gonna make some noise.

@franciscopaglo A diesel VW can get about 45mpg at 80ish mph. 50+ if your more conservative. And it's faster. And it's cheaper. And it's more attractive. And it's German. And it's more fun to drive. This is why I don't understand Prius owners...
