  • wrestling wohoo i was born 1980 so this my stuff growing up not sports entertainment bull shit

  • RWs were ALWAYS better as heels

  • Man, the AWA in 1985 was like watching a completely different promotion than from just one year later in 86. After the Road Warriors left everyone else just seemed to follow. Which is so unfortunate because the AWA had national exposure on espn and they wasted the opportunity to grow the company. What a shame, this was the beginning of the end for classic Professional wrestling. Just a few short years later and the territorial system that stood for so long would be just a memory.

  • the road warriors wooooooohooo

  • That was wrestling !! I'm only 24 and i can't watch today's wrestling. Wrestling in the 70s and 80s rules !!!

  • I seem to recall this match, or possibly another match pitting the Road warriors against Slaughter and Blackwell. It was memorable because I remember seeing Slaughter doing a very impressive dropkick on one of the Warriors. I've never seen the Sarge go off his feet before or after and never thought he'd be capable of that kind of agility.

  • I am surprised that there is not more good video of Slaughter as Super Destroyer Mark 2. He was involved in some really good feuds, with the Crusher and Billy Robinson and Mark 3.

  • awesome match what happened to A.W.A on 24/7 vince doesn"t show AWA or NWA FLORIDA any more once again his loss is youtube"s gain this is truly the new bigger, better 24/7.

  • The Warriors both slamming Blackwell was out of control! The Mountain from Stone Mountain had made his heel career by being un-slammable. Hogan slammed him but twice in one match was bonkers.

  • Frikkin' awesome!

  • Robert Remus had been working as a heel under a mask as Super Destroyer 2 in the AWA before going to work in the WWF in 1980 this time under a new gimmick Sgt. Slaughter which was originally a heel. Sgt. Slaughter turned babyface in the WWF in 1984 and upon returning to the WWF in 1990 he once again became a heel

  • Actually I believe Slaughter was originally a heel and then turned face to feud with the Iron Shiek, and then went back to being a heel when he returned to the WWF.

  • Slaughter was always Babyface before his return to WWF I think...

  • Royal Rumble 1992?

  • Such a good match. I would love to see the Natural Disasters take on the LOD.

  • You were correct the Warriors were still officailly considered heels at this time I remember going to a match in May of 85 it was the Warriors vs the Hennings. At the time the Hennings were supposed to be the faces, but when the Warriors came out the arena went crazy. I'll never forget the expression on Curt Hennings face he seemed in shock that the crowd was cheering the Warriors & booing him & his dad.

  • in the later edition of the awa wrestling all stars vhs release this match was not included. If you got the version with this on it you were lucky. Amazing power by animal to even pick that truck up.

  • What an awesome display of power by the LOD

  • I wouldn't say that. Rod Tronguard to me had a distinct traditional way of announcing. Like it or not, he was the voice of the AWA back then.

  • Oh cool I thought there was. I've seen many of the High flyers matches on TV and it looks like they may have influenced teams like the Midnite rockers and the Rock and rolls

  • Good Match.

  • Yes, there was. The High Flyers were 2 time AWA World tag team champions & were on of the primiere tag teams of the 1970s.

  • correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt there a team called the High Flyers...Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne? and werent they also world champions at one point?

  • i was one of those guys who liked the heels lol.

  • bad guys always have more interesting charecters as well as story lines
