READ DESCRIPTION.
Turn ON Annotation.
At the beginning of this description, i wanted to say sorry for the rough cuts in the movie. But
Windows Movie Maker - sux,
Windows Live Movie Maker - sux too,
Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 - also sux.
They all are giving shitty quality.
Live Movie Maker outputs to wmv at 24.0 Mbps (!) and the quality is somehow worse than the encode in mkv at 9125kbps.
It's blurry in some areas, i couldn't fix it with Profile Editor, not to mention about the compression, its crappy,
Here, take a look at the comparison between WLMM .wmv, original rec, my encode .mkv, and YT .mp4:

http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4008/02mkvencode9125kbps.png 488.3MB
http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/484/03ytmp4.png 318.8MB
At first, i had nicely edited the gameplay in WLMM but when i saw the output at the highest quality, i had to resign, and use the old method again:
cutting and joining files in MKVtoolnix, and then encode it to mkv at 8Mb/s.
I used RipBot264.

About the vid:
Don't get me wrong, Half-Life 2 is a great game, its just that i happen to find this funny glitch, and i thought it might be nice to make a vid showing it...
The glitch is based on some strange, i don't know, collision effect(?), (physics).
If you stand on the pickaxe, it will kick you out to heaven :D.
But it won't happen with any pickaxe.
I dont quite remember where did i found this very special pickaxe, though...
Normally, on this map, you need to get to the other side of the bridge using a car.
But if you exploit the glitch you can jump on/to the other side of the bridge, and so you will not gonna take a car with you...
So what will happen then if you haven't used a car?
Well, see for yourself:
First at 4:55 (you used a car)
and hen at 5:51(you didn't use a car) :)
She still says "great driving", but you didn't even touch the car :P :P :P hehe thats what happens when you cheat :P
-------------------
The settings in HL2 are pretty much maxed out.
Only AA is turned OFF.
Gameplay is quite smooth on
Core2Quad 3GHz, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD4650
even at 1920x1200.
:)
