I want to see the real version of this anime. I heard it's very different then Robotech.

If you watch the intro for Macross, this and Mospeada, then watch the intro for Robtech, you'll note the seamless merging.
-
Looks like a mix between Gundam and Macross

@demoskunk The subtitled version is available either by itself as Southern Cross or in a set with Genesis Climber Mospeada from most retailers. I don't think there's a dubbed version out there.

Curse you, Carl Macek, for tying this show to a great one and making us actually remember this series!

Where I can I get this show? (and NOT the Robotech version).

@nworder4life No she's not the baby. they just made her the baby when they edited all the three series together. The robotech universe and the macross universe are one and the same and yet they are not. Macross,Southern Cross, and Mossepedia actually have nothing to do with one another.

can you clear 1 thing up for me? is Dana sterling actually the little baby from the original Macross or was that just a lie made up by harmony gold? I mean I know in ROBOTECH that Dana sterling is their daughter but doesn't the babay version of her have green hair? This girl in Southern cross has blonde hair...so did they edit that in or what?

I do remember watching this as a kid when they were airing this as the second season of Robotech and thinking "Where the hell is Rick? Where's Lisa?" They should have just said it was a different show. Same with the second Voltron when they were suddenly vehicles instead of lions.
Okay here's the thing. Macross, Southern Cross, and the third series had nothing to do with each other except that they had the words Super Dimmensional in them. Carl Macek an American producer took all 3 series, edited together into a chronological saga and called it Robotech.

I'm currently watching this series. It's pretty innovative for having a female commander as a protaganist, especially since it came out in 1984.
