  • so it turns... im gonna do the bass solo

  • THE CONDUCTOR SEEMS TO RUSH THE TEMPO IN EVERY PART OF THIS MASS EXCEPT AGNUS DEI. GEE WONDER IF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SOLOISTS LEADING THE TEMPO? AS THEY SHOULD! THE SOPRANO COULD CONTROL HER VIBRATO A BIT MORE, BUT IS EXCELLENT AND ON KEY. PEOPLE WHO DON'T SING DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT TO BE ABLE TO SING IN THAT REGISTER IN THAT KEY FORCES THE VOICE TO VIBRATO EVEN MORE THAN IN LOWER KEYS. GREAT JOB!

  • @jaypenn123 I agree that it can be controlled but this is a case of taking it away rather then 'not putting it in'. And ok I concede sometimes 'too much vibrato' is possible but this is if like you say it is more of a 'wobble' than a healthy vibrato. Most singing should be done with a healthy vibrato, as constantly singing with a straight tone can be damaging to a singer. Not to mention that is lacks any kind of warmth.

  • @luceelizabeth vibrato doesn't (at least it shouldn't) "just happen". if it is completely uncontrolled and happens without any intervention of technique by the singer, it will, in very short order, turn into a wobble. she does sing beautifully, i agree, but removing vibrato is simply a choice that an intelligent, well trained singer should be able to do as the music demands.

  • Sure it was a little fast, but man this is just beautiful. Soloists were great, and the acoustics are AMAZING!!! Listened to it like 10 times :)

  • @potsdogho i was saying that people who write certain comments under this video are useless...

go back of 1 page and read... maybe u'll get that...

    1) i'm Italian and I studied Latin for 5 years so MAYBE i can recognize it, and to say it all, the pronunciation is horrible

2)I studies at the music academy for 10 years now... so MAYBE i know where Schubert was from + i sang this mass 2 years ago...

3)even if the performance was in Norway... PEOPLE can move and go to places to sing right?

    peace
