  • They couldn't wait for him to lift it hahaha why hurry the man.

  • Why do bystanders feel compelled to yell "Come on!" over and over again when a lifter is about to make a big pull? Or worse, technique tips . . . do you really think this guy needs any do's and don'ts seconds before launch . . . or that he even hears any of the verbal diahrrea from the sidelines?

  • @healthhavencom amen

  • Hell Yea craig......thats a raw lift. NICE!!!!

  • Good lift, but wow those guys yelling the whole time are annoying.

  • @healthhavencom A belt doesn't help a lifter in the way that a tight suit does, so I see no problem allowing raw lifters to use belts.

  • nice lift. the video should start at 1:35 though.

    Your logic makes sense.

There's nothing wrong with using a belt but it makes no sense to call that RAW.

  • @healthhavencom That's exactly what I was thinking. Most of the "raw" divisions and organizations allow at least a belt. It's not consistent with the idea that a raw lift involves no eq. They should call those divisions and organizations "minimal eq." Personally I like belts but despise the idea of suits and bench shirts. I'd rather do a 265lbs bench without eq (belts for squat and dead) than a shirted 400lbs.

  • @sirius212ify

    That's a good question.

But how can anyone logically define RAW as powerlifting with the use of equipment (ie a belt)?

If that were the case, what are we going to call powerlifting without a belt and without any equipment?

I guess we could call it REALLY RAW. But its probably better if we just protect the definition of RAW which is...

RAW: One lifter, One Bar (and some chalk). That's it.
