Haparanda railway station. Haparanda is a border station between Sweden and Finland. The railyard has track of the different track gauge. In Sweden the track gauge is 1,435 mm, in Finland 1,524 mm. A railways bridge is crossing the Tornio river. You can see the bridge at the end of the video. This video is from the Swedish site of the border.

  • on kyllä vanha rautatieasema... joskus muistan haaparannassa kyllä käyneeni mutta siitä on pitkä aika

  • so the carriages are not transferred from 'narrow' bogies to 'wide' bogies? Just each uses it's own size in the railyards on both sides of the border? so goods then are offloaded in each town to be carried onwards, I suppose :)
