It's propably a fine peace of engineering
and jugdeing from the comments seems very usefull, but it don't think it deserves the name.

The French original was a fast, turbine powered hovercraft, but this doesn't tickle me at all :(

as an employee who works in IAD... this IS long overdue... Running late for work, the employee shuttle buses COMBINED with the mobile lounges make the whole thing worse... it takes me the same amount of time (if not longer) to get into the aiport from the employee parking lot, as it does to drive there (i live in ffx)

I can't wait for this...it's far, far, far over due. Now if only Metro could catch up and go out there...

At least we won't have to take those damn slow "shuttles" from terminal to terminal. I live in MoCo and try my hardest not to fly out of IAD. BWI is a MUCH better airport with shorter security lines, way more modern/futuristic terminal designs, a more sensible layout, and more/cheaper local flights. Plus, it has Baltimore Light Rail, MARC, Amtrak, and Metro (via the Green Line) access, while Dulles has NO RAIL ACCESS. Thing is IAD has waaay more international flights than BWI...

The shuttles are pretty cool you get to see everything. But if your late for a flight then these things are like your enemy. But if you do miss your flight just get on all of the shuttles and tour the airport its pretty fun.

Yeah the thing about the mobile lounges is that they have to yield to all the airplanes on the field, so they're a nightmare if you're in a hurry trying to make a flight.

It'll be great once the Aero Train gets up and running. Like others said, it's WAY overdue. Now once the metro extension to Dulles gets built, it'll be really great!

That is the maintenance building, buddy. That building is designed to look like the rest of the maintenance buildings on IADs property.

Also, the project is not finished.
