So, what would you say about her perfomance compared to those of Whitney and Mariah?

@Zoreck2 I agree with you. I also believe that everyone should be able to sing any national anthem; this is why they were written to be sung.

For the record the best rendition of the National Anthem of the United States of America with perfect rhythm especially when she brave to hit the word Free............... ! I heard I've watched Mariah's rendtion and other singers star but Celine's rendition of this song is the most poweful!

No, She's a Canadian who speaks French. In French, we say Canadienne française. Capital C for the nationality and a small f for the adjective or the language.

@Zoreck2 Are you sure she is a US citizen? Anyway you do not need to be a US citizen to express your appreciation for America and its people as she did here.

Celine Dion is French/Canadian so there isnt a big difference, no more than being African/American, so she is French then Canadian, puffball9, Viva La France, and Alba Gu Brath!

Actually she is a US citizen as well as Canadian. As to why she is singing this, it is because she has a right to. A right that many good men and women DIED for. If you disrespect her right, your are also disrespecting your right and those that fought and died so you could have the right to say that comment ending with "out of her ---??? Yes, I served this county for many. many years, in many, many ways and has been every conflict we fought since 1970 and I say she has the right as do you!
