Hi,

To me there are three core elements to educational therapy: remediating the causes of learning problems due to issues such as ADHD, visual processing, etc.; knowing how to teach skills and concepts using a student's strengths; and defeating learned helplessness--a belief by students who have a history of failure and difficulty that they are "stupid" and can't learn. Hello, there..briefly wondering...Educational therapy seems somewhat vague to me...two entirely different frameworks...education and psychology. How does one become an "educational therapist" with a concentration on students' reading problems? Isn't that simply a special needs educator with a specific focus on learning disabilities? I greatly appreciate your clarification, thank you. Very interesting.
