I was there last year... Lousiville is such an amazing city... my favorite place was the 4th street ;) Louisville sluggers, Derby event, Bourbon, Ohio river... love it!
honestly i am glad i went when there weren't bats being made b/c there was no noise, and no possibility of getting hurt or breathing all that sawdust...i went just a week ago on a Sunday and i think the tour guide is more able to show you things if the machines are off and there aren't factory workers to maneuver around...this museum and factory is an excellent tour well worth the $10.
This tour is indeed a good tour. However, I would caution anyone who is looking for information about the tour to check carefully before you fork over the $10/adults $5/kids for this tour. During several SCHEDULED TOUR HOURS there is NO BAT PRODUCTION TAKING PLACE ON THE FACTORY FLOOR. What do you see? VIDEO of bats being made. BY UNION AGREEMENT, all the union factory workers' workdays end at 3:30pm EST. Tours keep going until 5pm. Ask specifically if bats will be in production on your tour.
I went to boot camp at fort knox, ky and i visited the museum after graduation. I'm from southern cal, but damn louisville is such a beautiful city.
