  • you are allowed no spurs or whips, and only snaffle bits. These ponies run because they love it, i dont see how kicking them with your bare foot and pulling up in a snaffle bit does any harm, wearing spurs and harsh bits is harder on the ponies. These ponies are responsive & light. These ponies love their jobs & run there hearts out, these riders know what they are doing (it takes much more skill than most other equestrian disciplines). Games ponies are treated with alot of care.

  • These guys put my mug shuffle skills to shame

  • @operikischristmas haha, ofcourse not! people always exagerate things! but the way things are going in the horse world (not pony games, those remain fairly the same as always), they really are asking for it! a sport horse having an average life of 7 years is outrageous! they keep it up and some nutcase PETA people will find a way to ban horseriding! It's unlikely, but still scares me...

  • @DJBelbe yes it is annoying however i still dont believe games should be labelled as a harsh sport

  • @operikischristmas and isn't that annoying? I understand why there should be rules against harsher methods but not milder ones! it's the same thing in dressage competition. Sure hope this gets reviewed in the future. I know of many fine dressage horses with mouth problems that had to change into show jumping because they can't use a bit. stupid...

  • @DJBelbe yes we use halters & bitless bridles at home, but cant compete in them so use the softest bits we can

  • @operikischristmas yes, the mylers are one of the best designed comfort bits I've ever seen, great pressure distribution and nice tongue freedom without palate pressure but they can still hurt, though most horses learn to ignore it. My stallion was taught to express his opinion freely on anything that bothers him and he says he hates all pressure beyong the tip of the pinkie finger on a bit. Not practical for speed work so I chose to use a plain halter instead.

  • @DJBelbe well my two games ponies are ridden in straight bar happy mouths and level one comfort lose ring mylers (THE two softest bits you can get) and they have the softest mouths ever, it depends on what kind of snaffle you use :)

  • @operikischristmas a snaffle always hurts, but yes, I agree these horses DO love what they're doing! I've watched a live presentation once in Dublin and the ponies were as intent on the flag holder as the riders! they were all itching for the race and none of them looked sad or depressed like most dressage horses you see at grand prix today! but they did look pained whenever the reins were pulled hard back yes! Wish they'd try a dr. cook instead for instance, think it would work just as well

  • thumbs up if this made you cry coz they are sooo bloody good, ((:

  • Inspiring! I giggled when the music came on

  • wow..that looks like soo much fun !! haha xD
