  • Has anyone ever heard of AP or UPI (when it existed) or syndication services for newspapers. This is the same exact thing. What's your point. Also, this company has been producing NEWS stories, never one VNR, for almost 30 years.

  • I didn't realize it was supposed to be a secret that news channels use pre-made segments in their broadcasts?DUH!

The article on the website pertaining to this was laughable baby nonsense which didn't even make sense.

Starts out saying the company that provides the stories sells them without the need of stating it came from the company, and then later in the article they try to call it plagiarism. So which is it,cookie cutter story you buy or plagiarism? Make up your mind,Gradethenews.

  • So what? Dr Dean has complained of news companies broadcasting VNRs appearing as news stories- when they can be little more than infomercials. The problem is that VNRs are often not looked at critically for content and appear to viewers like legitimate news. However, if he wants to attach his name/voice to a story, then there is no problem since he is the one determining that the information is accurate. I dont see a problem with this nor any inconsistency

  • So... Dean worked/works for channel 7. They come up with stories, he does them if he sees fit. Not sure I understand why it matters that this report mirrors another one.

  • Dr. Dean?! No! Damn. That sucks.
