One year later, when the niece of Sheriff Harris is abducted by Cusp, Maya's former chief Kassel summons her back to the investigation. Maya teams up with Harris trying to save his niece Penelope, but her time is short and she must risk her own safety to help the young woman

I'm confused about something : Jenifer Lopez's character had no psychic abilities in the original, it was all done by science. This is blatant capilizing on the popularity of (I think) a completely unrelated film. It was like saying Spaceballs was the actual sequel to Star Wars (and I hate using that analogy because Spaceballs is brilliant - I just mean in terms of the obvious differences) : average effects also (in this movie) - just not good.
