The '57 race was Cale Yarborough's NASCAR debut... but he was 18 and wasn't old enough to race "legally", so the car was entered with another driver. Cale snuck into the car to start the race, but didn't last long. If I remember right, he went out not too long after Bobby Myers's wreck.
Do these cars get up to their top speed on this track?
After seeing parts 1 & 2 of this race, it seems that these cars had from 220 to 277hp, but I've seen that a Chrysler 300 from 1955 had 300hp, so are these cars a little under powered?
I know it's hard to find, but does anyone know how fast these cars accelerate say from 0-60mph, quarter mile etc?
thank you greats for your ul, but unfortunately it was from 1956 1957 there was no one chrysler hemi, Kiekhafer retiered 1956) but nevertheless it´s first class, i love the old really stockcars you can buy this car next day on monday! Today too, it could be a great advantage to drive real stockcar! But today they are all focussing of the high $ F1 or the others high $ classes.

He more than made up for it in the coming years.

Bobby Myers was the father of Danny "Chocolate" Myers, legendary RCR crew member. Chocolate now runs the RCR museum.
Unfortunately it was in this race that Bobby Myers was fatally injured.
