1: CHRISTIAN GIVING PRINCIPLES: New Covenant Giving Principles in Second Corinthians 8 and 9 are Superior to Tithing.

The false teaching is that tithing is a divine mandatory expectation which always must precede free-will giving.

Christians are commanded to give freely, sacrificially, generously, regularly, joyfully and with the motivation of love for God and man. The following New Covenant free-will principles are found in Second Corinthians, chapters 8 and 9: (1) Giving is a "grace. These chapters use the Greek word for "grace" eight times in reference to helping poor saints. (2) Give yourself to God first (8:5). (3) Give yourself to knowing Gods will (8:5). (4) Give in response to Christs gift (8:9; 9:15). (5) Give out of a sincere desire (8:8, 10, 12; 9:7). (6) Do not give because of any commandment (8:8, 10; 9:7). (7) Give beyond your ability (8:3, 11-12). (8) Give to produce equality. This means that those who have more should give more in order to make up for the inability of those who cannot afford to give as much (8:12-14). (9) Give joyfully (8:2). (10) Give because you are growing spiritually (8:3-4, 7). (11) Give because you want to continue growing spiritually (9:8, 10-11). (12) Give because you are hearing the gospel preached (9:13).

  • Unfortunately, few people will question whatever they hear from a pulpit. We have been instructed to test everything.

  • Please take note that they are NOT discrediting the fact that Christians should "give" but its each Christians choice who to give to and how much. It's not the church' s right to dictate that. Just as much as it is not right for them to meddle in your home and dictate your family and parenting style. Personally I agree in giving but not tithing. It is a free choice not a forced one.

  • People are giving because they are being told they are robbing God if they dont tithe, how can anybody who cares about people say "dont debate money" we should challenge anything that corrupts Gods word and harms people, this video is correct TITHING IS OBSOLETE but giving to the poor and helping those who teach THE TRUE GOSPEL will never be obsolete , and SOME of the old testament is no longer valid Levitical sacrifices etc thats why its a NEW TESTMENT , or NEW COVENANT.

  • Very good teaching. You are right.

  • This is the absolute best teaching on Tithing I've ever heard, and 99% of Pastors will never teach it because they're too scared to loose their jobs. Russ thank-you so much for speaking the truth when its not popular and bringing correction to the body of Christ. My prayers go out to you and your family and many thanks for allowing the holy spirit to use you in such a dynamic way. :)

Thanks again, and God Bless you!

  • This is great teaching! it astounds me how many people refuse to open their eye's and be taught the truth......they would rather climb a tree and believe a lie than stand on the ground and accept the truth. Thanks for your effort of teaching the truth on this matter..... Jeff

  • The belief of some Christians.

Lord use my hands, use my feet.Just don't think of touching my money because i believe supporting my local casino or walmart.is the way to spread Christianity to all parts of the world.

  • Great teaching! Its So simple & common sense. People (Sheeple) would rather blindly do as they"re told instead of study it for themselves.....herd mentality! Keep up the good work!

  • wickedshepherds(dot)com is a must read for a Christian next to the Bible!
