I know I said I was going to post "A Little Priest" from the London production of "Sweeney Todd" next, but I just got the audio of Mimi Hines in "Funny Girl," ans it is so wonderful that I wanted to share it.
I know the audio quality is poor, especially in the end; but do understand that this was recorded by someone in the audience. Plus it's over forty years old.
I love this number, and Mimi sings it so well!
By the way, this audio is from "Funny Girl's" closing night.
I preferred Mimi to Babs. I never found Babs funny. Mimi was.

Great, thanks for this. I had wondered how Hines sounded, she's good and I like this number as well. Too bad it was omitted from the movie version, along with the great ballads

Thanks for this! I saw Mimi and the cast in the show in the summer of 1967, shortly before the closing. She's no Barbra Streisand but she held her own against any expectations one had from listening to the original broadway cast album. Some of the numbers and scenes were slightly abgreviated, for instance, "I'm the Greatest Star" was shortened. Look for a new revival of Funny Girl in 2012.
