1 Ethiics: WEF Davos Question: My Answer!!! A Must See!!!

1. Should Company Executives have a code of ethics similar to doctors and lawyers?

Humanity is a big group of people consisting of smaller groups. These groups are composed of individuals. These individuals behave in different ways according to their own understanding of themselves and other individuals. Thats why the individual is key in an organization, be it executive or staff. Some of them may behave in a way that will be supporting the survival of the group and others may endanger the survival of this same group by performing harmful acts that can harm others physically, mentally and emotionally. This may be due to many factors like their concept of themselves, which may be based upon information handed to them by family and friends, which may be based on reason or reaction, both positive and negative.
Due to the unpredictability of human behavior, a code of ethics is a must in every group in the current setting.

Since companies are groups composed of individuals, this is necessary. Company executives idealy lead by example, and a code of ethics that they personally apply to themselves first, and in their interaction with other individuals in the group, will have a positive effect on the company that will overflow to different departments in the organization. and produce ethical products in those departments.

Ethical products mean greater company recognition plus having corporate social responsibility , this will be a winner. This done, it is important to also look at whether the code is based on sound basic commonsense principles aligned to the goal of the Company ( which is ideally, also based on sound basic commonsense principles on group survival). This is true with any group, be it in the family setting, the doctors office the lawyers office or in the business setting. Groups, being 2 or more people having the same goal and acting in the spirit of oneness.

Given more time I will be able to come up with a
suggestion on what the commonsense basic principles will be plus the actual code of ethics, why this is needed and what will make companies stable and maintain their stability and why, based on an actual "WHY" of the whole situation.
