This tree represents critically rare deadwood and hollow habitat in SE Queensland, there are no other examples known to us of deadwood and hollows of this size held at such heights above ground anywhere else in the region.
The scientific evidence is overwhelming that a range of invertebrates, fungal and microbial organisms are solely reliant on this type of rare habitat...they do enhabit younger and smaller diameter deadwood. The reliance of much larger fauna on specific sized hollow is very well known.
Really interesting video & taught me a lot. It's lovely to hear your love & enthusiasm for this tree.
