Bill Herriman (aka "Texshooter") is one of the greatest slingshot expert of the world. He has many years of experience and won some very prestigious titles in tournaments.

He does offer various slingshot products, like his band sets. These sets are available in several versions, each one made from natural latex. He tapers the bands, for additional speed.

This is a review about his "express" bands, the strongest he sells. They have been attached to the "Cougar", a slingshot that can take any kind of bands on the market.

The results are impressive! A .38 cal. steel ball (9,5mm) flew with 90 meters per second (262 feet/sec), quite impressive.

The bands have a very nice, smooth draw, and the preformed pouch is simply excellent.

Bill Herriman can be reached at nherriman@stx.rr.com.

  • Hi Joerg, My question is ; is there a way to soften slingshot surgical tubing to make it easier to draw. Please report back.

  • You can simply leave it a bit longer. The longer the easier. Also, you can cut it in half, lengthwise, if it is really thick.

  • Joerge. please: i made some slingshots (from wooden branches), but very often i experience that bullet hits one of the posts. Can you please tell me what is wrong?

  • Very likely, you cant your slingshot. Means, one fork arm is closer to you than the other one. Have someone filming you when you shoot, from different angles. The slingshot needs to be aligned as good as possible. Also, hold the slingshot steady when you shoot, don't move it after you release the pouch.

Alternatively, you can learn the "flipstyle" technique, watch my related video.

  • Will you be doing a proper review for your cougar slingshot? Also did you find that your first dankung was wide enough for you because i bought both their western and the Chinese sized slingshot and found that the height was fine just the width of the forks was too narrow on the Chinese.

  • Yes, have done the video, but have been waiting for Dankung's approval. Have released it to the public just now.

  • Thank you very much for your very kind review of my bands Joerg. Joerg is Very popular with shooters and with very good reason. He puts much time and effort in new inventive designs and is a great credit for the slingshot sport. His videos have inspired many shooters and have caused tremendous growth in the sport. This channel is a great slingshot channel. Bill Herriman

  • @arisingartist , for the 9.5mm (.375") steel, which weighs around 55 grains, 262 fps would give around 8 ft lbs (11joules). 16mm is about .629". That size lead ball would weigh about 375 grains. At 157fps, that's about 20-21 ft lbs (28 joules). I don't know the weight of the 14mm steel, so I can't calculate that one atm. VERY impressive for the other two though.

  • @MrAirgunlover while im not as much of a hardcore shooter as Joerg or do i know if this post has been responded to i would recomend Thera-Band gold it is the best flat bands and probably the best bands in general for slingshots. hope this helps and merry Christmas!!!

  • Great video, how heavy do the bands feel? I'm 17 and I can only really lift a 10KG weight (in one hand) would I be able to pull back these bands to their full extension easily enough to shoot accurately with them?

  • holy crap, this mean that you have shoot that ball at about 300 kmh..

that's definitely insane for a slingshot!

  • i clocked a 240gr .44cal lead ball with tubing type sling shot at 120fps at 7.67ft/lbs. wich is 4 times or more the energy of a steel ball. i would like to see velocity of a lead ball in comparrison to the tubing type bands. i am guessing you can get 200fps from them.

  • Hello Joerg ... What is the name and model of rubber that you use? that seems a tape.?

  • I own the Wrist Rocket Pro and shoot Bill's express bands with it. I think they are superior in every way to the original bands that it comes with. Power, accuracy, and the pouch is fantastic! Masterful work Bill!

  • @thernk

Kosten tut die 38 Dollar zurzeit. Und durch Zoll kommt die genau so wie jede andere Chinesen Schleuder ohne Armstütze durch.

  • nevermind my previous comment, found the info! I have a barnett cobra with a ripped band,, maybe I'll try some express bands if they make tubular^^
