Cornwell was a genius for writing the lyrics that lets face it, gave the band the songs that stood the test of time, sure jj wrote good music but it was never the same after the split, the Cornwell lyrics ARE The Stranglers. I have everything they made to date, i go see them every year also & hand on heart, while they are still the best band around they really were never the same without hugh & can NEVER be the same. Sorry to anyone who says otherwise, youre entitled to your opinion & i to mine

And I would say Hugh has never been the same without the entire band. The band as a whole made some really interesting sound back in their hey day.
They still sound good now but they're not nearly as dynamic as they're used to..
