My 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L with a custom dual exhaust I designed and built with a mechanic I worked with at Chrysler, you won't find a split dual exhaust for a cherokee online, we had to build a heat shield around the gas tank to in order to run the pipes out the other side.

  • i've got a 96 jeep grand cherokee and im looking to put duals on it do thay make a kit or would i have to custom make something for it?

  • magnaflows would have sounded way better but still looks sick

  • @tylerspyler2 You are totally correct. the only XJ's that had head problems were the ones with the coil packs. But there was a 2004 jeep cherokee!! It's is by no means considered (XJ) your right, but in china they continued to make the cherokee with an updated front and rear and called it the Jeep 2500. :D lmao, and thank god it didn't come to the U.S. I personally think it looks ugly.

  • @TheLucas2696 Your halfway correct. but the 99 did not have head problems as long as it has a distributor not the coil pack. and the XJ stopped production in 2001. no such thing as a 2004 jeep xj but only a select few had the head problems, and it only really happened when you overheated them or were really hard on them.

  • It looks like you may have a cracked head. They tend to put out a lot of water when they crack. Also your oil will go milky. The '99-'04 XJ's have head casting issues.

  • dude sick exhaust i had mine lyk yours but needed a heat shield because the gas tank began to melt the person that put mi exhaust on wouldn't put it back on even after i built one so i respect yours i wish i still had mine it was an awesome sound and loud

  • @252mperry252 On my old cherokee, my pacesetter header was actually split 3 cylinders on each side with a y-pipe, so you could have run true duals with an X-pipe off of that.

  • I like how my $90 factory Flowmaster Super 44 sounds EXACTLY THE SAME! Sweet rig though.

  • clean whip

  • You shoulda found some two piece manifolds. I think some 4.0 have those, don't remember. This thing doesn't look like it gets dirty, so having some exhaust hanging shouldn't be that big a deal...
