How to Survive Bullying!

I've been wanting to do a video about bullying for some time, but I didn't experience much anti-gay bullying growing up - and I know it's more powerful when you can speak from experience. I made this video with Nick, a blog buddy who has been bullied, so that he can share his tips for surviving.

Thanks for sharing! But does walking away work? Did it work for anyone else? Every time I got bullied I felt like punching the bullies.. And I yell at them and they run away and it makes me feel good.. Never tried walking away. I'll give it a go. Thanks for sharing! come out to people who you know will support you like close friends and family. then come out to others. i came out to my friends before my parents because theyre very homophobic.

Same here, apart from the blowing up bit. If walking away is an option, go for it. Sadly, it very often isn’t. There aren’t many places you can walk away to when you’ve been left in an empty classroom bound and gagged, or when you’re a scrawny 10-year-old being pushed down the stairs by six 15-year-olds who are all three times your size.

Sadly, talking to teachers and parents often just makes it worse. What more victims of bullying need to do is to talk to the POLICE about it.

You can't often just walk away. THEY FOLLOW YOU! My mom used to tell me to just ignore the bullies, but it never phased them, it just made me an easy safe target. One day I just blew up (like the little kid in that Christmas movie), and started beating up the main bully. He was taken by surprise and fell to the ground and I relentlessly pounded his face. I didn't realize all the repressed hate I had inside. If there had been a brick nearby I would have smashed in his face and ended up in jail.

Thank you for making this one Davey. This is an issue all around the world. If ONE person is being bullied, its too much. There is no need for it.
