Secretariat was something people need to see. He was a freak. We will never know if he was the greatest ever, but he was the one and only, Super Horse.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to ride Secretariat? Be on his back during the Belmont? Go to http://www.HorseRaceGame.com and see for yourself what it's like to ride, or train, the "Super Horse"

  • Regarding "Superhorse" Jurassic Park music - you used 2 themes. The first theme ought to climax when he won the Belmont, instead of which you start the 2nd when he runs away from Sham. The second theme has a lot of bells and whistles but isn't as emotionally moving as the first. Watching Secretariat in the Belmont, I think of the 4th movement of Beethoven's 5th Symphony. I love that first theme. The second one - the one that you use as he loses Sham in the Belmont - doesn't work for me.

  • This is all one song on the Jurassic Park CD. The only editing I did was at the end, having the fade out be a little shorter

  • I wish you'd figured out a way to make the music - which is prefect - go with the video. Jurassic Park stops too soon, and resumes inappropriately. It's the right music for this story. Just not rightly apportioned.

  • Where did it stop and go?

  • If memory serves me correctly the time Sham ran in the Derby would have won any other Derby to that point and is still the fastest time by the runner up of the Derby. Awesome job again carlykaiser.

  • If Secretariat wasn't in the race, Sham would have broken the Derby record.

  • best movie on youtube i've seen of secretariat. great video love it, thanks

  • God gave Samson: strength, he gave King Solomon: wisdom.....and he gave Secretariat: speed...super speed......his record at the Belmont will not be approached for eternity

  • Love the video and the music! Great tribute:-) Secretariat is my obsession. To me, he's the ONLY creature ever born that had God-like perfection. I place the supernatural magic of Secretariat above all other humans and horses. This marvelous, incredible freak of nature will never be seen again. Not on the race track and not by ANY human. He's my God..Very few people understand what Secretariat represented..they'll never get it & they'll never know what God showed us through one horse.Perfection.

  • 1st time I've seen this video. It's good, but then again maybe I'm prejudiced, I'm a Big Red fan.

  • Fantastic. I'll always remember the day he won the Belmont. The Secretariat movie is coming in 2010; wonder if they'll use the real Belmont call or try to reproduce it? Diane Lane is playing Mrs. Chenery; I don't recall who's Lucien Lauren.

  • Awsome video! Thank you so much! I was two years old, but if I could ever go back in time to witness any event. I'd pick the 73 Belmont!

  • I also can't believe this is the first time I have watched this video- thought I had seen all the Secretariat videos. Thought the music fit very well- great job for the greatest horse!

  • Carly, how did I miss this video??!! You made it 2 yrs ago when we were all still arguing about who was the greatest (dumb). This is a very generous and thoughtful contribution> Tallyho96's comments really are interesting, not meant to be critical in a mean way, just an honest critique. I know what he(she?) means, I had same feeling at beginning of video on JPark theme. Wld have to get out my Beethoven 5th and listen. Almost wish you cld do it over and see how it sounds. thanks again !

  • I agree (8 mos ago per your post). I love to read about all the daily happenings with Secretariat, so magnificent, strong, beautiful. Yet when Ron called him "a great big pumpkin of a colt" I laughed and my heart swelled. As a baby he was almost indifferent to all the seriousness around him. Penny describes Somethingroyal being 18 when she had him, and he didn't cling ro her at all, too busy frolicking and harassing the other yearlings, as the boss.

  • This was the greatest race ever run. It shouldn't reiterate an earlier theme. It should be sui generis - which it was. And if you can't do that because John Williams has only provided us with a limited amount of perfect music, then why not match Secretariat's achievement with something appropriate?
