One can readily see these young women were healthy, well-fed specimens, mainly the product of the affluent, privledged American1950's. It is tragic that they were taken in by the rebellious, "idealistic" Hippie ethos of the late 60's and then led astray by a psychopathic, yet charasmatic "red-neck". Yet if you read about Manson's dreadful, cruel and abusive upbringing the origins of his criminal character may be better understood. "The boy is father to the man" as Wordsworth wrote.

@astarothsharp Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme has a beautiful, ethereal kind of face. Her expression had a haunting quality. She was part of Manson's gang but not involved in any of the murders personally. Pity she had to take a pot-shot at President Ford (I think it was). I believe she has recently been released from prison for that crime.

All other considerations aside, I have always thought this a good song. The general arrangement and vocals are first class and done well. Manson was a self-taught musican who aspired to be a recording artist and Brian Wilson him talented. Unfortunately, he did not have the discipline and rigour to take advice from other more experienced musicans in the studio so Wilson gave up on him. Manson was actually a very affable guy and most liked him. His "country manners" were excellent.
