Untitled Longing... Chapter 230

So so so so so so so so so SO sorry! I know it's been like, forever, but I've been stuck in a MAJOR writers block. If you follow me on Twitter, you know how horrible I feel about it.So sorry.

Nick's POV.
I close the distance between us quickly and take her face in my hands. I then push her body into mine and hug her tightly. My hand goes to the back of her head and I push her into my body. She lets me crush her for about thirty seconds, then she tries to get away from me. I let her and drop my arms.
"I'm sorry," I apologize immediately. She shakes her head.
"It's fine. You got hit with the realization that I'm close to Summer. I understand," Auden replies easily. I look at her and notice something strange. Something that for one second, makes me believe my gut wasnt right.
"You wanted to talk?" Auden reminds me, and she sits down on one of the beds.
"Yeah, can you give me a minute? I need to use the bathroom," I mumble uneasily. She nods and makes herself comfortable. I lock the bathroom door behind me and quickly whip out my phone. I speed-dial my brother and he picks up right before I'm about to give up.
"Nick? Everything okay?" he asks, sounding quite tired. Or worn out, I'm not quite sure.
"I'm not sure," I whisper.
"Why are you whispering?" Joe asks.
"I need to ask Brooke something." I ignore his question and continue in a hushed whisper.
"I'll put her on," Joe agrees. I wait impatiently for Brooke.
"Hey, Nick. What's going on?" she asks somewhat worriedly. I notice she has a completely different tone than Joe. She sounds somewhat light; like a huge weight has been lifted.
"What do you know about a girl named Auden?" I ask quietly.
"You okay in there?!" I hear Auden call out from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, give me a second... I need to brush my teeth!" I lie. Stupid. I couldn't have come up with anything better than that?
"Um... Okay."
"Is Auden there with you?!" Brooke cries.
"Yes," I whisper. "Why? What do you know about her?" I ask again. My stomach turns uneasily.
"She's Summer's cousin..." Brooke confirms. The uneasy feeling doesnt go away completely, but it fades.
"That's what she told me, too," I admit.
"They're really close, too. I can imagine why she's here, I just didn't think she'd be here." This makes me wonder...
"Why not?" I inquire.
"Just 'cause she lives far away. It's no big deal. But yeah, if you were calling to see if she was for real; she is. She's a really good person... Listen, Nick, I want you to stay optimistic. Joe and I are alright here, and I hope you're okay, too. But I need to go. I love you," Brooke concludes. My eyes grow wide and suddenly it clicks. Finally.
"You told Joe, didn't you?" I ask, my lips stretching into a wide grin.
"About Alex, or that I love him?" she asks happily.
"I'm proud of you. But I've got to go, too. And I love you, too..." I smile and hang up the phone. I immediately open the bathroom door, to find Auden standing there.
"You forgot to whisper at the end. So, are you cheating on Summer?" she asks with venom in her voice. My jaw drops.
"Absolutely not! I love Summer more than anything!" I cry. She glares at me.
"You just told someone who you were on the phone with, that you loved her," she reminds me.
"First of all, that couldve been one of my brothers and—" She interrupts me.
"You asked if she told Joe," she reminds me, again.
"It could've been Kevin!" I run my fingers through my hair in frustration. "And it was Brooke! You know, Summers best friend? I was calling her to see if you were for real," I spat. Oops. I didn't mean to say it at all, let alone that harshly.
"Oh... I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions, then." Auden steps back and I see the hurt look on her face. Now I feel like a jerk.
"No, look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you," I apologize.
"No, I get it. You're under a LOT of stress, you miss Summer and are worried. And then you have to deal with everything else on top of that. I wouldn't think I was for real," either Auden replies. She looks down, and still looks hurt.
"That doesnt give me an excuse to act like a jerk. I'm sorry. And I'm sorry for feeling the need to check up on you..." I apologize again.
"It's cool. Really." I go over to her and sit down on the bed. An awkward silence falls between us and I dont know what to say. I'm about to break the silence by just saying a random word, when she comes to the rescue.
"How's Brooke doing? She's with Joe right?" Auden asks. I nod silently. Then I realize if I dont keep this conversation going, well fall back into that awkwardness.

this is amazing. while reading this I was thinking of things summer and nick might be ding right now if summer wasn't gone

then when nick was like "I'm about to break the silence by just saying a random word" I started thinking of random things he might say.... I settled on big hairy monkey shrimp. ANYWAYS this was amazing xD

Hmm, Nick at the beginning...whoa.

He really misses Summer and it's certainly taking it's tole now. He NEEDS her back, otherwise he's going to go insane...and maybe do something stupid *cough Auden! cough*. ;D

I can't believe that Auden accused him of cheating. Uh, excuse me, you don't know him well enough woman! Who do you think you are?! Haha.
