Meet Brother Abdur Rahman: A Lesson in Patience and Gratitude

When ever I come through Penn Station, I look for (Abdur) Rahman. He's such an awesome guy masha'Allah. Whenever I see him, and I ask him how he's doing, he's always starts by thanking Allah for some blessing he has. His attitude toward life is so inspiring that I had to help him share it with more people. We had talked a few times about me bringing out my camera and filming him, but then I didn't see him for a while. Finally, this week, I ran into him again alhamdulillah, and even though I didn't have my camera, I felt it wasn't worth waiting. I decided to film it with my cell phone (sorry about the quality). Alhamdulillah I'm glad I did. :-)

@ayahreflection Insha'Allah I would really love to put something together where I can get money from you guys to deliver to him. Do you know how I could do that? Maybe I can do it through pay pal? Please let me know where you live or where I can meet you. Can we maybe even take it further than simple charity? Maybe down the road try to find a way to make it easier for him to get a decent shelter? I don't know but if we try there has to be a way

I want to figure out how the money could best be used. Insha'Allah make du'a, and if you have ideas let me know. This made me cry...patience, one of the most important virtues that we need. Prophet Muhammed practiced patience daily, lets follow his example. Allah SWT loves the patient, Allah give us Sabr insh'Allah. Lets follow brother Rahman's lesson and be grateful for everything Allah has given us.
