Gameplay from the Arcade version of Roadblasters, emulated in MAME32.

One part rally racing, one part Mad Max, one part generic futuristic setting, and add WEAPONS. That's Roadblasters. Drive from point A to point B without running out of fuel. Shoot hostile cars, bikes, Rat Jeeps, and roadside turrets to increase score and ensure your safety. Use special weapons dropped from assist planes to combat your foes more efficiently.

Fifty rounds of this, and yet it never gets old. Just difficult.

  • Can somebody help me here. I'm searching for an sega megadrive version of this game. But I'm beginning to wonder if it an European megadrive version was ever made?

  • @henli02 There was a version for the Genesis/Mega Drive, but it wasn't released in Europe.

  • i found a road blasters arcade game at this dumpy arcade at the beach its a sit-in arcade cabinet but in horrrible cosmetic condition with the seat cushion completely gone, just the board is left, however the game itself is working and thescreen is good shape, should i try to buy it and restore it? is this a popular game because i have no expeirence buying/selling arcade games

  • @gamerguy425 KLOV info says that Roadblasters is "very common" - 72 out of 100 for non-rarity. Still, you shouldn't worry about that - if you think you can make that cabinet look good again, then go for it.

  • Ever since the "horizon" in video games was discovered... Games changed forever.

  • @AlirazaVideoGames Yes, it was. TENGEN was a third party company for Atari and Namco.

  • @xxpandamidknightxx the NES version was made by TENGEN right?

  • wow i remember playing this in the arcades and getting to stage 2 or 3. after that, i didn't have money to continue (i used to spend only 50 cents on the arcade per day, 25 cents on this game, and 25 on another like final fight)

  • I have the Roadblasters arcade port on Midway Arcade Treasures for the PS2. And they have a t-shirt give away if you complete rally 50!! I'm going to keep playing it til I pass it and mail in the info. And best of all no expiration date!:)

  • I definitely remember this game

  • One of my arcade favorites! I dazzled friends on many occasions with my Roadblasters skills.

  • I loved playing this game in my youth. I also sucked at it XD

  • @xxpandamidknightxx Makes sense.

  • @rexx1234567 Well people do not understand exclusively made or just came out on. I know Atari and Mindscape were joint because of the third party history Atari had back from 1976-1984, but in a sense, Atari made the game though. I do remember the NES, that one was subpar to the original.
