Whether you want to be a botanist, a breeder, or a mulcher
You gotta learn this rap because you know its the best
And Im sure that if you dont youre gonna flunk all of your tests

Heres an easy way to memorize your plant hormones

Auxin in the tip, Gibberellins in the seed
Cytokinins for cell division and branching in a tree
Ethylene, a gas, for the ripening of fruits
And ABA abscissic acid makes you plants go moot

Now you know we gotta talk about the beauty of a flower
It starts off as a seed which contains a lot of power
You got your flower stalks and petals and your stigmas styles and ovaries
Your sepal and the filament and dont forget your nectaries
The anther and the Filament are the flowers male parts
Theyre part of the stamen where the pollination starts
Pollination happens with the birds and the bees
But sometimes its the wind, like with them sequoia trees
You know that pollination isnt really all that tricky
The pollen finds the stigma which is really really sticky
It travels down the pollen tube which is right inside the style
And goes down to the ovary now just wait a while and its here.
The ovarys a fruit. The Ovule is a seed
And that my friends is what flowers do when they want to breed
Imagine all these cells going through a week long term
To form a diploid zygote and a triploid endosperm
And thats all about flowers, yes thats all you gotta know
But you should learn about the soil where all of your plants will grow
Now you gotta have a soil with the silt clay and sand
For you know that soil determines all the flora on your land
It takes silt sand and clay, to make the perfect loam
But you need the right percentages so now ill let you know em
Forty percent sand and 40% silt
20% clay and your flowers will not wilt.

Now why am I just rapping with all this ferocity
Is it that important to know a soils porocity?
Yes it is for you know that larger particles like sand
Are too big to hold water, watch it drain under your land
But smaller particles, yes you know Im talking about clay
Are quite impermeable and the water always stays
Now im done with this thing, you know Im out G
If you memorize this rap youre guaranteed to get a B
So dont cheat off your friends and circle them like vultures
