When we went to Uganda this past May, I meet a young lady who could not see because she did not have any glasses. She waited from 4AM until 12:30 that afternoon to see me in hopes of getting glasses. Watch this video to see her reaction upon putting on her new glasses. After I took the video, I went back and got her two extra pairs of glasses so she would have a backup to her first pair. She broke into tears thanking us for coming. An hour later she came back and brought me a small handcrafted basket that took her a half of a day to make. She supports herself by making these baskets to sell. It wasn't until later that I realized that she could only see up-close without any glasses and this was her only way of supporting herself. Now that she has glasses, a whole new world of oppurtunities is now open for her.
