CRAFTOVISION with Corinne Leigh

This week I get inspired by the Royal Wedding, the English and their fancy fascinator obsession and show you how-to curl feathers to make your own fascinator.

  • Would you call that color...concord? (WINK). It's GORGEOUS!

  • @shivonna1 haha, you don't miss a thing:) Love you!

  • This is super awesome! It's so like, out there (in a good way). Could you do this with a hot glue gun instead?

  • @PEEPSaPLENTY Thank you! Honestly, glue gunned things have a tendency not to hold together or be very strong. With fascinators like this, you are always repositioning the feathers so you need the wire bases to be really strong. When the tacky glue is dried all the way, it is super strong. I love that stuff.

  • omg is that what those are called?? i thought they were just silly hats lol

  • @pigglepower haha they totally are just silly hats:) It's so fun to wear something crazy every once in awhile! I'm all about it. Here's to silly hats!

  • @Evange the term crinoline is used more to describe a specific garment than a fabric. Tulle could be used to make a crinoline. But in actuality crinolines can be made from many different things. Their purpose is to add fullness to a dress or skirt. They used to be metal cage type things back in the day.

I love the fluffy crinolines! They're a burning man staple. xoxo c

  • :) thank you very much!

  • PERFECT for my steampunk costume

    :D thanks for the tutorial!!!!

  • This is brilliantly explained. I like it very much except for the thick wires. Can you use a thinner wire for a more delicate look? It does look great in the end, though. My own style is to use super magnets so the fascinator can be used on a headband or on a hat. Ain't this fun?!

  • How often do you NOT DIY things?

  • Shaft ! Lol I'm a 23 year old wife/mom & stuff like this still make me laugh. Love the silly hat. Hopefully my daughter will like one.

  • wow thats so pretty, and looks easy to make..

  • love it!!!!!-.... will rock thesse for the weekend... gonna make a couple right now!
