  • calm down, its just a test, damage physics and looks will be way better.

  • I know, I know. That's why it would be nice if GT5 had proper damage model, I'm not against it in any way. Deleted my comment. I'm sick of people replying all the time. And by the way, take a look at here:

    w w w . gtplanet . net / brand-new-real-time-damage-coming-to-gran-turismo-5

  • cool...now we can be better drivers in-game too. They just killed it with that damage thing.

  • @Erajormamias, Not having the understanding that CONSEQUENCES such as crash/damage can occur, one can simply drive recklessly to the finish line especially if it places you first on the podium.

Having this feature in place would make all Gran Turismo users better GT drivers.

Just because the first four full on Gran Turismo installments never had damage/crashes doesn't mean team Polyphony didn't want it. As with professional racing, damage/crash do rear its head. It's simply a part of racing.

  • @Erajormamias, Understanding reasons why crash/damage needs to be in racing games is very important.

The purpose is NOT to create a demolition derby effect, and NOT to intentionally crash your vehicle. Purpose is to give users the understanding that there are CONSEQUENCES to poor driving at high speeds, potential tire wear, under-the-hood issues.

All cars need to have visible/mechanical damage w/ proper collision physics in order for GT5 to be technically considered a solid simulation racer.

  • the code and data from gt4 was not used in any way for this game. PD had to start from scratch on this one because the ps3 was the first machine they didnt have any involvement with developing. GT4 had a little over 740 cars so the 830 couldnt come from it.

  • That's true. The translation of the GT5 feature list (was on PD's official site, has been removed) was just a bit crappy...

  • no they all have full inside view just 170/1000 have damage modeling.
