This song is musically genius and everything and I like it but what the fuck were they on

Without the vocals, this song would sound like a cave/mine level in an awesome video game.

1:15 best part. that piano that plays gets me every time. love you yeasayer.
-
generally not a huge yeasayer fan, but i'm obsessed with this song
-
Reminds me of Black Moth Super Rainbow in a way.

Stop calling people close-minded just because they don't like weird kind of music.. They're just not into it, shut the fuck up

What my friend is trying to say here is that you become smarter by listening to music you've never listened to before. Had I not become open minded about music a while ago I never would have discovered Yeasayer because I still would have been close-minded about music. Allow your mind to taste new things, and who knows, you might find something you really like.
@CampingBuddha Music is subjective. Not only subjective in that it's a matter of opinion what is good or bad, but subjective in that by listening to something you condition your brain to appreciate it more. It's not a conscious change. Listen to, say, atonal music a lot, and even if you hate it at first, the more you listen the more the music will open up for you.
So realize that even though we're all hearing the same song, we're hearing it in different ways based on our musical experience.
