How To Refill Throwaway Pepper Grinders - Chef Remy Cooks!

Here's how to refill those throwaway salt & pepper grinders. The tops are pressed on permanently but my video shows how to defeat them. You'll be able to refill spices for a wonderful fresh taste. Kosher salt, for example, has a much brighter taste when ground fresh. You could experiment with many spices that come in their natural state (not ground yet). Enjoy!

FDA imposes grinders be made of polypropylyn which doesn't break up but foreign made grinders may be made of most anything. ABS plastic is used in better products.

Plastic grinders are the worst type of grinders I think. I had some sea salt with a built in grinder, I almost didn't notice, but tiny specks of plastic also came out with the salt.

I think that there's a way to pry the top off, and pop it back on.
