What is Pride? What is Humility? It is interesting to see just how many people do not have any real idea on these two important topics.

The wise man does not work towards greatness or being proud. The wise man lives an ordinary life, doing ordinary things and does not escape anonymity and obscurity. We can never be great or special. We are no more special than any other animal or insect on earth. We are fallible, error prone beings and there is no need to change this. This is our state and let's drop this stupid desire to get out of our natural state.

Pride strengthens the ego. Ego is the root of depression and unhappiness. Pride is created by the fulfilment of the desire to be special in some way or the other. Humility is recognition that there is no such thing as being special. You are what nature determines you to be - your beauty, intelligence, competence - everything is determined by nature through genes and the enviromental influences that you are subject to. We are all obscure and anonymous. Being special, great is a delusion.

@Roannepur Why do you need self-esteem and to believe in yourself? What if your self worth is derived from the way God loves you, empowers you, and created you? Look back in history too, it is possible that many of the greatest achievements we not by men believing in themselves but by those who followed Jesus with their whole lives. With self worth you are only as valuable as you think you are, which can be easily deceived.

Humility is not to judge and if someone says to You, "You have no Humility" then they have no Humility either, because they have judged You!!! ... to say "Why get all religious about this upload" then that is a judgement so that is not humble either...

Pride causes arguement,dischord,violence and war and even murder and death...Pride means someone deserves special treatment...Pride started right back when Adam sinned against God...Pride is being ashamed of God...Pride is anything to do with Self...Pride is Ego,Self esteem,Self Love...Pride is Self hate,self disgust and Self Pity..The opposite of Pride is Humility...Humility is Freedom from Pride and Arrogance...Humility is to gain in God's strength...Humility is to glorify God and not Yourself

 Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance to downfall. It is better to be humble and stay poor than to be one of the arrogant and get a share of their loot.
