Thanks! Me, too. I've been playing banjo since 1961, and I learn something new every time I pick one up! Please feel free to call our toll free number if I can be of any assistance: 866-365-5189

Question for Mr. Zeppmusic: Is there such a thing as an eight string banjo with the two outer strings tuned high?
electricslipper 1 year ago
@electricslipper I suppose someone has made an 8-string, but I've not seen one. OTOH, Gold Tone is now making a 10-string which has twin chanterelles (the "5th" strings). We have one on order for the store, but we're literally waiting for a slow boat from China....

the guy is a good clawhammer banjo picker but that doesn't sound like old joe clark

Thanks. The first time through is based on Wade Ward's well known version. The second time through (after 35 sec) contains elements of the better known version that is played in bluegrass and used to be sung as a childrens song.
It's 100% "Old Joe Clark," though. :-)
