Katter ought to be alble to make his views on the Gay issue frank and open not switch to another topic. I agree with his stance on the suicide and farming issues, but neither he nor any other polly should start talking about one thing when they've been asked something else.

@gocat77 Those countries are temporarily surviving with bloated populations by taking most of the resources they need (energy, land to grow food, etc) from other countries. They live at the expense of other peoples' resources. When we soon see the end of cheap energy (oil that allows us to power large food-producing machinery, phosphate-based fertilisers that have increased harvests, etc), these places will be in deep trouble. Australia has 6-10% arable land - it is not fertile like the US.

@PopulationParty If population density is such a big problem, why does Singapore, the 2nd most densely populated nation with 7641 people/sq/km have one of the highest standards of living? No. 1 on the list Monaco with 16,135 per sq/km. Japan, one of the world's leading industrial powers, has 360 people per/sq/km. Australia has an astonishing 2.9 for every square km! At 60 million we would have 7.8. Water? Probably enough from rain on our roofs.

I have no problem whatsoever with gay people living their lives as they wish, but don't force your agenda on the majority of people who live their lives according to our god given right to marry as Man & Wife (Male & Female). Only a man & a woman can create a child. We tolerate your beliefs, but you cannot populate without artificial means & that is where the buck stops. Have any of you gay advocates ever considered what your 'Production child" will have to face growing up?

As for that last lady's comments about Katter giving too much focus to N. Qld, she ought to wake up & smell the coffee. Katter is beholden to the interests of his constituents, and they have been seriously neglected by the 2 major parties, its high time that their interests be better represented.

And why is she blaming Katter for the balance of power? Gillard, Abbott & the Australian voters are responsible for that, not Katter.
