Almost immediately after the legendary punk/hardcore band Black Flag called it quits in 1987, lead singer Henry Rollins issued his first solo releases, Hot Animal Machine and Drive By Shootings (the latter an EP credited to Henrieta Collins and the Wifebeating Childhaters), featuring longtime friend Chris Haskett on guitar, bassist Bernie Wandel, and drummer Mick Green. But Rollins missed being part of a true band, hence the formation of the Rollins Band. Similar in style to the Flag's latter direction (Sabbath-esque riff-heavy hardcore metal), the Rollins Band enlisted ex-Gone members Sim Cain (drums) and Andrew Weiss (bass), while Haskett remained onboard. The group quickly made a name for themselves with their explosive concerts and nonstop touring, as soundman Theo Van Rock signed on as well (Rock's contributions were so great that he was often credited as a fifth member of the band).

Imagine getting into a cab, looking at the name on the dash and it says "Henry Rollins". That would be the most intense cab ride ever.

There's a certain irony to watching this video online.

I remember listening to this song when I was young.. I felt like the complete world was against me. Every day was a struggle to go to school and not beat the shit out of everyone I ran into... I was so goddamn angry at that point in my life, but songs like this really helped me understand my anger and hate. Knowing I wasn't the only one that got really tired of this world really helped me through my younger years...Too bad I still hate everyone!

I've seen it before, it proves nothing. I could do that too if I were up on a stage and the person I was hitting was defenseless surrounded my people but that's not to discredit his ability to fight or anything. I'm just saying he never seemed like an intimidating guy to me but instead just a very strong believer in his own ideologies and that strength may be what intimidates some I guess but as far as attitude goes he just seems straight forward.

Not quite, he would probably spend the whole time talking about the third world regions where he traveled.
