The first one (just NHL hockey, would've been 92) didn't have the players names but had the teams and logos. The second (93) had the player names but no logos or team names. 94 on had both. Not sure why it was like that though.

This is pretty much how me and my mates spent our teens.

Never saw an actual hockey game, apart from what pops up in movies,

But this game was awesome.

Dunno what version, but it had the fighting.

Also was awesome having the first controller, because you could annoy your mate by constantly replaying, freeze-framing, and giving commentary on your goal.

When your buddy tries it, you can allow him one replay, then cut him off if you have controller 1.

Yeah, they're playing 93 in the movie, but referring to the rules of '94. So strange....

It's 93, actually . . '93 didn't have logos at centre ice, they didn't use team names (only cities), and the Islanders were called "Long Island".

'94 went back to logos at centre and to using team names. Must have been some issues with the rights with the NHLPA for the 93 version...

93 was the only one where you could make their heads bleed. and the movie is wrong, there was also fighting. it's NHL93 for Genesis.
