So now I will begin taking Prilosec tomorrow. Hopefully, none of the
nasty side effects will accompany its use. I dislike taking
medications, so this is going to be a bit unnerving for me for a few
days, but maybe I will get used to the degradation of my body without
my knowledge *LOL*

  • This may be old news, but it sounds like you're taking a lot of vitamins. I've done my fair share of reading about reflux, and some people find that supplements actually contribute to the problem. Something to think about.

  • @stephaniesterner Really? That does make sense to me, as it's another thing that your stomach has to break down with acid. I'm actually thinking about reducing the vitamin/supp tabs that I take, as there is synthetic stuff in them that I don't want to ingest. I want to find more of my nutrients in nutrition-dense foods, anyway. Thanks for the insight :)

  • how are you feeling now? how's the acid reflux? i'm taking the generic prilosec. took my first pill this morning but it makes me feel kinda dizzy and tired.

  • @waipahutube The generic prilosec has been helpful to me. I would prefer to get relief from a more natural source, but this medication has been helping me. I haven't felt dizzy or tired on it. How many mg are you taking?

  • @Luv4Learning I am taking 20mg..well i just took it one day. I go to see the ENT dr today. I too rather do it the natural way. i might be sensitive to the medication because i have a vertigo--inner ear--problem. so not sure if it triggered the light headed feeling. after you eat do you sometimes have that feeling like food is stuck in your throat? i had that this week...i have to take a swallow test next week.

    hope you doing ok

  • I hear eating a piece of cheddar inhibits bacteria and acid in the mouth. You are supposed to have a piece before going to bed. I should look that up and see if there is anything to that.

  • What you share is up to you of course. I like what you post. As you know I like learning about people. I think it is fine to pick one aspect of your life and share it openly. Like politics or religion or dating. But you should not share it all. And that is where I think you have it right. There are aspects to your life which you save for yourself and your closest friends.
