I have come up with a modification to the PVC wind turbine blade that I would like to share with you. Simple as it may be, I fasten a strip of thin gauge steel to blades made from thin walled PVC drain pipe with pop rivets. This adds a great deal of tensile strength and stiffens the blade while still allowing it to flex. Another advantage is the materials are very light weight and cost effective and most of the structure runs down the spine of the blade
