An introduction to Mead, what it is and the process of making it in one gallon batches. It is a wine made from honey rather than grapes and it is pretty easy to make. Lots of mead making stuff on my website at :

  • Mead! this is how I first discovered Storm the Castle, way back when. Good to see you returning to it.

  • @MexSanukk cool, great comment. I haven't posted a mead vid in a while so I did this one. But, the mead website has been getting new stuff all the while :) Thanks for visiting my website!

  • excellent video!!In greece we have a diffenrent variation called rakomelo which i basically tsipouro(a bit like ouzo usually without the aneseed) which is boiled with honey and other herbs and is either drunk hot(very good for u when u got a cold) or at room temperature...but it is a lot stronger than meed.

  • @stephanosmixail I love Greece. Never tried the rakomelo though.

  • Could you use cheesecloth to syphon it?

  • @MrBebopKid Yes, but siphoning is better. You also filter out flavor.

  • you said something about using bread yeast but i did not understand what you said shortly after that it also concerned the bread yeast. that part just went to fast for me to understand :s

  • I'd be a lot warmer and alot happier with a belly full of mead.

  • i think on my 21st birthday i will make mead with juniper berries mixed in

  • @jedikkeneus Use yeast with higher tolerance, back feed it. I often make 25% but usually go with lower as it's quicker.

  • @Jimbokafrilica Μην γραφεις γκρικλις....αλλα πως να εξηγησω στον αλλον που δεν ξερει τι ειναι ρακη πως μοιαζει?
