The Abbott Family Band plays "Working on a Building", bluegrass-style. The Abbotts perform regularly for charity on the Santa Cruz Pacific Garden Mall. They have created an easy, simple playing-by-ear learning method which you can find on www.playingbyear.com. If playing this (or any) kind of music appeals to you, check it out!

  • hi i work for this company name " the abbott ball co." the company its been running for 100 years mr abbott was the original ownerback then . in CT hartford

  • No relation, I'm afraid. Nor to Abbott Laboratories, or Abbott and Costello.

  • I agree with jeffbec completely. I'm learning this version of the song cause it has the most soul of any version I've heard. It aint nearly as easy as you make it look. You guys are wonderful! Luke..I know you're playing in D but what's the tuning? Is it open G, or saw mill (AKA mountain minor) or something else? Thanks and great job.

  • Thanks all for the nice comments. The banjo's in standard tuning.
