This is a clip from a Matt Chandler sermon that I love. If you're a single young adult, tap into your Savior and be aware of how he's designed you and what he's calling you to be.

  • what sermon is this from?

  • @jesskn06 I'll try to find it. It's been a bit since I've listened to that sermon. It may be from his series on manhood.

  • I feel so relieved to hear a pastor say this. I lived for years believing I had to reach this weird "singleness nirvana" where I didn't care if I had a wife. the advice given to me by friends and even leaders left me feeling like i was a failure as a christian just because I wanted a spouse. I can't imagine how many others are thinking the same things. its time to get passed this garbage of fake contentedness. STOP COMPLICATING IT! the beauty of our relationship with God is how simple it is!

  • @Joetheviking84 ...You're absolutely right Joe. God understands how he's made us, and for us to fake contentment when there's a desire on our heart that is godly is a huge mistake. God loves us and will help us along our way, not always with a spouse, but with contentment in himself.

  • @TheJJSG Or you could forgive her, and live out a life that mirrors Christ through the life he's given you. A lifestyle of willing submission to all of his commands...that includes respecting women and honoring them.

  • I agree here with Matt Chandler about this. But know that Paul also has something to say on the side of singleness (1 Corinthians 7:6-9).

So it's also okay for a single man to be content, if he is content with it. But falsly content with it, is not good no.

Also you see in here, that man and wife are meant together. And a part of this sermon mentions that same-sex marriage is not how God meant it to be.

  • @jesskn06 its from "The Role of Men Part 2: Men as Husbands"
