  • Yes, Karl Urban's McCoy was totally reverent and respectful. It comes as no surprise he was the only solid fan of the original show among the main cast. At points he even looked like DeForest.... his mannerisms were that good. And that irascible southern drawl.....spot on. Uncanny.

  • He did ok.. not quite Scotty in my opinion. Now the guy who did McCoy got it perfect! spot on accurate

  • @BuffaloHockeyTown 2nd attempt, The ashes were subsequently launched on a Falcon 1 rocket, on August 3, 2008, into what was intended to be a low Earth orbit, however the rocket failed two minutes after launch. The rest of his ashes were scattered over Puget Sound in Washington.

  • Scotty, we love you! Scotch will rule the world!

  • I hope you where not joking or something as you said scotty beamed up.

I would hate you for that, James Doohan was a great actor and a very kind person. His dead was very hard for me.

He will always life in well certainly MY heart, I hope in some others too.

    Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Ah, also, Gene an De, rest in peace.

  • James Doohan's ashes never made into outer space. The rocket malfunctioned and broke a part somwhere in New Mexico. They have not found James Doohan's ashes. I feel bad for his family.

As side note, this is not something I'd joke about. Simply google it and you can read numerous reports of the unfortunate accident.

  • Gene Roddenberry is buried is space too...

  • seriously?!?!

  • thanks for this, very interesting!!

  • May Jim's soul live long and prosper beyond the 23rd century.

RIP Chief Engineer of the Starship Enterprise.

  • Pretty cool that you can have cremated remains launched to space for less than $1000. Way to go Scotty!
