"In a Finnish study on humans, women who had the highest levels of CLA in their diet had a 60 percent lower risk of breast cancer than those with the lowest levels. In another human study, those with the highest levels of CLA in their tissues had a 50 percent lower risk of heart attack than those with the lowest levels. "
If you are interested further, this information may help you find good sources for research.
"CLA may have anti-cancer properties, even in very small amounts. In animal studies, CLA at less than one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of total calories prevents tumor growth."
The most abundant source of natural CLA is the meat and dairy products of grass-fed animals. Research conducted since 1999 shows that grazing animals have from 3–5 times more CLA than animals fattened on grain in a feedlot. Simply switching from grain-fed to grass-fed products can greatly increase your intake of CLA. (Dhiman, T. R., G. R. Anand, et al. (1999). “Conjugated linoleic acid content of milk from cows fed different diets.” J Dairy Sci 82(10): 2146–56.)
My favourite forms of good fats would definitely be organic virgin coconut oil or edible coconut oil , organic or natural ghee and oils such as olive oil , sunflower oil and peanut oil.
Ghee can be used to prevent some of the ailments which we face everyday.
In Italy , the Mediterreanean and Middle East , organic or Olive Oils are used to massage the body to prevent dryness , to massage away aches and pains and to provide the skin with all the vitamin E and other stuff. Ghee is beneficial too. I would either use olive oil , ghee or sunflower and peanut oil for my dry lips or parts of my body.
Thank you for all of the wonderful information on ghee! I saw in a video-ghee being made out of cream (possibly raw=probiotic) but at the end she must cook on low to medium heat for two hours with the amount of butter she was using. Would heat like this kill the probiotics?? Is there a temperature to not go over when making ghee with precious non-pasturized raw ingredients? Thanks for any education you can send me!
