Rehman Akhtar - British-Pakistani stand-up comedian

This is my official entry for a competition to take part in the Amman (Jordan) Comedy Festival, taking place in Dec 2009. It features clips from two shows I did in Bahrain recently - Firstly, when I opened for 'Axis of Evil' stars Ahmed Ahmed and Maz Jobrani and the other is a local comedy night. @k4l4m Actually, Omid wasn't the first to use this trick (although I'll admit, he IS the most famous!) and he probably wonlt be the last. I've shared the stage with Omid a few times and he has never complained to me! Thanks for the observation though! (hope you enjoyed the rest of the performance or did you just watch the first 30 seconds? :)

@ualp90 It's a fair point and I DO get where you are coming from. However, as a comedian, you bring your 'life experience' to the stage. Your nationality and cultural background is a big part of that. You just can't escape it! So I talk about the funny side of growing up as a Pakistani immigrant in the UK and then moving to Saudi Arabia as a 'brown brit'. There's a comedy goldmine righ there! However, I do also talk about things not connected to these topics (honest!!). Thanks for the question!
