A Memorial for Lexus, My Pitbull

This is a slide show full of memories with my 11 year old Pit bull,Lexus who died a year ago due to an accidental drowning while in the care of a relative. She was my one true love and her being gone has left a void in my life...I have tried to avoid dealing with my pain over the last year and it has, in a way, caused me to be on"emotional auto pilot"over the last year . I never got to say goodbye, and I wasnt there to save her. I carry that guilt everyday. I loved her so much and cherish the memories.It just hurts so bad ! Its all like a bad dream and still surreal to me.

So she was actually missing for a whole day before she even told me that Lexus was missing and didnt have her collar on.The River was right downtown in Reno so I know people saw her, but she had no tags so no one could call me. She was found a week later washed up on shore. She had a Micro chip so they were able to call me and tell me they found her.I will never forget getting that call. It still haunts my soul.

Anyways, my mom lived fairly close to where me and Lexus would go to the River to play fetch,she was crazy about swimming.When she got out, she went down to the same spot on the River and jumped in.It was April when the snow run off causes the water to be cold and faster than summer time.She was out of shape from being inside all Winter and wasnt strong enough to pull herself back out. My mom was too scared to tell me Lexus had gotten out because she knew Id flip out.

My mother took her for a visit, like she normally would do every now and again, but that time her dog got out of the yard and Lexus followed him. Lexus normally wouldnt leave.You could let her on the front porch all day to sun bathe and she wouldnt go anywhere. I was the boss to her and she was incredibly obedient,but when she was at my moms, my mother thought that it was mean that I had a collar and tags on her,so she took them off. Her dogs are incredibly stupid.

My rabbit died..last year -June 1st- which is my birthday...that was honestly the WORST day or birthday i had ever had....im so unlucky coz out of all the other 364 days in the year...it had to be on my birthday :'(

Your video made me cry. I have lost many a pet over the course of my life and each one of them is like family and a piece of you is taken away with them. I lost my brother 2 years ago and all I can say is the losses add up, friends, family, pets, little pieces of yourself that are sloughed off and irreplaceable. I'm sorry. She had a good life and was loved and you must find courage and solace knowing this, even if it isn't ever enough.

I love pitbulls. My son has a black and white one. She destroys anything made out pf paper but loves to play with the neighbor kids. Most people don't understand how loving these dogs really are. Thank you for this memorial, it brought a tear to my eye.

@TheLexusMama i feel fer ya , i lost my dog Eddie a couple of years back, he contracted the parvovirus infection and being a small dog it hit him hard , there was nothing i could do, the vet told me that we should put him to sleep i refused but he ended up dying in my arms ,like if he was just waiting for me to come home from work to say good bye, i cant express how hard it was to see him just fade away, i know my pit Maya also felt the loss

O my God i have a solid blue pit bull and she just turned 9 on Halloween and I'm sad because shes getting old and i love her to much to let her go:/
